MEDIPAN DIAGNOSTICA was founded in 1992 right beside the Berlin Airport Schönefeld by Reinhold Hartwig and Dr. Horst Steinmaus two former managers of Henning Berlin, holding long experience in the field of Thyroid Diagnostics. The aim of the company is the development and distribution of in vitro tests, both radio and non-radioactive ones, focussed in the field of Autoimmunity and other chosen areas with a need for sophisticated diagnostics. Since the beginning MEDIPAN has underwent a vehement growth in the domestic market and today is an accepted partner for laboratories and doctors not only throughout Germany but also in all major European countries.

MEDIPAN DIAGNOSTICA's product panel comprises more than 45 different products and is expanded continuously. Based on the company's extensive experience and well established reputation in the field of Thyroid disease the focus of parameters available is on different autoimmune related phenomena.

In respect to thyroid disorders assays are offered to detect autoantibodies (AAb) to Thyrotropin (TSH) receptor (TSH-REZAK, TRAb , T.R.A.), Thyroglobulin (Tg) (anti-Tg) and Thyroid Peroxidase (TPO) (anti-TPO). In addition the following parameters can be determined: Thyrotropin (TSH) (TSH-IRMA), Thyroglobulin (Tg) (Selco Tg, Tg rem) and Triiodothyronine (T3) ( T3-RIA ).

In the field of gastroenterology products are available for Celiac disease -gluten sensitivity- which measure Ab to Gliadin, AAb to Transglutaminase (TransG, tTg, CeliAK ). Gastritis Type A may be diagnosed by AAb to Intrinsic Factor, (H+ + K+)-ATPase of Parental cells ( BiermAK ) and Endomysial auto antigens (EmA). Crohn's disease is related to Saccharomyces serevisiae (ASCA); Autoimmune Hepatitis to AAb to Soluble Liver antigens (SLA). Lipid metabolism may be assessed by Leptin measurements.

Measurement of the three AAb to Glutamic Acid Decarboxylase 65 ( anti-GAD₆₅ ), Protein Tyrosine Phosphatase ( anti-IA₂ ) and Insulin (IAA) is recommended for the risk assessment of Type 1 Diabetes.

The infectious disease Lyme-Borelliosis can be determined by Borellia specific IgG and IgM using assays from MEDIPAN DIAGNOSTICA.

In relation to bone and mineral metabolism the parameters Parathyroid Hormone ( PTH ) and Calcitonin may be of importance.

Several assays are available for Rheumatic and other systemic inflammatory diseases. The following determinations can be offered: AAb to nuclear and cytoplasmic antigens (ANA, ENA ), Ribosomal Phosphoproteins (rP), nucleosomes (Nucleo), double stranded DNA (dsDNA), Uridine-rich small nuclear Ribonucleoproteins (RNP, Sm), Sjögren's syndrome antigens (SS-A, SS-B), centromere (CENP), Topoisomerase (Scl-70), Histidyl-tRNA synthetase (Jo-1) and Cardiolipin.

For the convenience of our customers most of the parameters can be measured by different formats: Radio immunoassays employing magnetic beads, coated tubes or precipitation are provided as well as state of the art ELISA kits.
